MonicaLee Face Art Academy

Monica Lee, born on September 6, 1965 began her working career as a fashion model in 80's. While modeling, she realized that she wanted to pursue something in fashion but not designing so she opted to further her studies in make-up at Grease Paint Make-up School in Northfield, London from 1992-93. She returned to Kuala Lumpur in late 1993 after gaining a year of working experience in London. Monica soon found herself her first job in advertising world in Kuala Lumpur in January 1994. Working for more than 10 years covering TV Commercials, print, special effects and a lots more, Monica is now well known in the industry and has finally decided to open her own make-up school or better known as MonicaLee Face Art Academy.

At 39 and after many hardworking years, Monica has not only achieved great accomplishments through her work but has also been awarded as Best Make-up Artist of 2004 for the Malaysian International Fashion Awards by Mercedes Benz. Her popularity and familiar name in the world of advertising and fashion has prompted her to open the academy as she thinks it is time for her to share her knowledge in make-up art with those who are interested in it.

The MonicaLee Face Art Academy, located on 2nd Floor of Kuala Lumpur Plaza on Jalan Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur is open on Monday to Sunday from 10.00am till 7.00pm. The academy has some of the best talents in the industry as lecturers. Some of them other than herself include Biby Chow(Make-up artist), Yooyo(Make-up artist), Victor Goh(Fashion Stylist), Samantha Nioo(Hair Stylist), Jacqueline Lim(Beauty consultant), Eva(Nail Artist). Monica's Color

She has not only proven her talent locally by being the Ambassadress or Key Make-up
Artist for the many fashion weeks held in Kuala Lumpur every year with Star and Utusan
along with L'Oreal and Maybelline respectively. Or even the many different print ads
you see in the country like Celcom, Carlsberg, Citibank, Nokia, Coca-Cola and others to
name a few.

She has added to her portfolio some international assignments such as her involvement in
the movie Entrapment with 20th Century Fox starring Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta
Jones, some theatrical production work in London like 'Dream City" and "High Society"
both in 1994 and many more.
Monica also recently extended her work of act in make-up to producing quality special
effects work in Astro's latest TV Commercial with the re-creation of the character from
The Ring.
